Our eight-step carpet cleaning process
We are open about how we clean so you know the job is thorough. The process has been refined over more than 20 years.
Inspect the carpet
We walk through your home or business to understand what type of carpet you have, and look for dirt, stains, high-traffic areas and other problem spots.
Pre-vacuum
Pre-vacuuming removes loose dirt and soil and leaves a clean canvas for the rest of the process.
Pre-spot
Any troublesome stains found during the inspection are treated with a pre-spot cleaning solution.
Pre-spray
A pre-spray breaks down dirt and soil in high-traffic areas and gives stained areas another layer of attention.
Agitate
The carpet is raked or brushed so the solution reaches deep into the fibers. Without this step only the top layer gets cleaned.
Wait, then rinse thoroughly
The pre-spray needs 15 to 30 minutes to break down soil, dirt and stains. Then the carpet is rinsed thoroughly and the remaining waste is extracted.
Groom and dry
The carpet is groomed so it dries in the right position. Proper grooming cuts drying time and prolongs the life of the carpet.
Final inspection, with you
We double-check every stain, spot and high-traffic area, and you take part in this step so we are sure you are happy with the job.

Cliff arrived on schedule and got started right away. He was very professional and did a fantastic job! I am more than pleased with my carpets! He even put a cover over the front door and guards on corners so that the hoses didn't rub up against them! Much more impressive than those national chains. I bought a used trailer, family of 5 and two pets- carpets were beyond filthy so it was Hemingway's or new carpet. Beyond thrilled with the results and he sucked up at least 30 pounds of pet hair and sand, ground in. Stains (many) are gone and carpet looks brand new. This is the real deal, you need to use Hemingway's. Price was incredibly reasonable, he spent 3-4 hours meticulously working through it all...if our carpets can be cleaned think of what he can do with yours...
Cliff Hemingway did a fantastic job on our carpets...about 1600 square feet worth. The carpets are white and he did a great job cleaning up all the very soiled areas. The carpets look new! I’m very pleased with the results. In addition to his thorough and meticulous work, he’s a very polite and kind and a man of his word!
